I recently was introduced to Color It By Numbers online and thought it was definitely worth saying a few words about. At first I didn’t really see how this was more helpful than the color it by numbers I used to play when I was a kid – the thing is, kids are online now. The game can be used to help your child learn numbers and become more familiar with their colors.
Your child will have three choices of objects to color: Animals, Princesses, or Vehicles. They then can color by numbers, color to make visible (which reveals the image as the child colors), or color in favorite colors, which gives your child the opportunity to be creative and make the picture all their own.
To change the preset colors just click on the tube of color then click the custom tube to select the color of your choice. If the child is coloring by numbers and chooses the incorrect location, the game will prompt them to the correct color for the section they have selected.
The game is fun and educational, but most of all it really helps the child to focus. You can even print the pictures out and stick them on the fridge. This is not to take away from good old fashioned coloring but it may help their mechanical skills by using the computer and it is a quick, fun, and clean way to become familiar with numbers and colors.
